Breakfast in Alice’s hidden garden

There are too little weekends, or they are too short, or I’m just too busy. Anyway, I’m lacking weekends when I have time to go at ease to the center and have a nice breakfast. And when I do have time the weather is shitty. So here I am posting about a place, where I went almost a month ago and dreaming about when am I going to do it again. It was that weekend when it felt like summer was here, but sadly that feeling was short-lived and now it actually feels like the summer is already over and it’s autumn, cold, rainy, grey, totally sucky (is that even a word?).  Continue reading “Breakfast in Alice’s hidden garden”

Fancy brunch in Chocolato

How do you like coupons? I love coupons, I am very happy when I can get stuff for free or cheaper as usual. So when I saw a cupon for a “Luxurious brunch in Gent” I had to get it. This luxurious brunch took place in Chocolato. This is a chocolate shop and coffee place, but apart from that they also give different chocolate related (duh!) workshops. I was very excited about it and this time Laurens sacrificed his free time to join me (it didn’t go without his comments though “You do know I’m only doing that for you!?” and the like). But not even Mr. Grinch can ruin my excitement before a brunch. After it, it’s a different story and that day the culprit of my annoyance was extremely strong front wind when cycling home (FYI this is a constant mood breaker in my life). Brunch in Boom

A couple of months ago, I stumbled upon a Facebook page for a new brunch place in Ghent, with a very interesting concept. On their website it said you could only eat there if you made a reservation, which you could make after an invite (for which you just had to send an email), once there, everybody sits together at a big table, which gives you the chance to meet some new people. I was intrigued. Boom was not yet open when I first found out about it, but I immediately knew I wanted to try it out. I patiently waited for it to open and when they started to take reservations I quickly made one. Their concept is simple – healthy and natural. What you get are delicious vegetarian dishes made with seasonal produce. Their menu is set and changes every two months.   Continue reading “Brunch in Boom”

Breakfast at Gust

Those that know me, know how much I love my breakfast. Breakfast is my me time before the day starts, I want to have that 20 min (or longer in the weekend) when I can enjoy in my meal and read my book. I also love to go out for breakfast and brunch. I think I prefer to go out for a good breakfast than for a good dinner. I don’t know why, I think I like the atmosphere in breakfast places more. There are many nice breakfast places in Gent and last Saturday I visited Gust that opened in august.  Continue reading “Breakfast at Gust”
