Lemon tahini spirulina dressing

Grilled veggies are a quick and delicious meal all year long, but appear on our plates more often in the summer months. When I’m having grilled vegetables, I like flavour them with different marinades or dressings. Olive oil, garlic, parsley and lemon juice is my usual flavour combo, but this time I felt like experimenting and made a tahini-based dressing/sauce.

Zelenjava na žaru je hitro pripravljen in slasten obrok v vseh letnih časih, a se na naših krožnikih bolj pogosto pojavi v poletnih mesecih. Ko pripravljam zelenjavo na žaru ji rada dodam več okusa z marinadami in različnimi prelivi. Olivno olje, česen, peteršilj in limonin sok je moja najpogostejša kombinacija okusov. Tokrat sem bila pri volji za eksperimentiranje in sem pripravila preliv, ki temelji na tahiniju.

I almost never use tahini for anything other than hummus, but I have tasted several salad dressings with tahini and I quite like it, so I decided to make one myself. I wanted to make it a bit special so I boosted it with some spirulina powder. Spirulina could be the reason why not everyone will like it. I don’t mind the subtile taste of spirulina, but a lot of people are put off by its taste. It actually pairs nicely with tahini and garlic, so I do encourage you to try it. Laurens, who never had spirulina before (well he did in smoothies, without him knowing), described the taste of the dressing as ‘special’ and ‘interesting’ (with positive meaning). Taste aside, spirulina is super healthy and it’s rich in proteins, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants and was shown that it can boost your immunity, so it’s not a bad thing to add to your diet.

Tahinija skoraj nikoli ne uporabljam za kaj drugega kot humus, ker pa sem okusila že številne solatne prelive s tahinijem in so mi ti kar všeč, sem se odločila, da ga bom tokrat uporabila v taki obliki. Preliv sem želela narediti malo bolj poseben zato sem vanj dodala spirulino. Spirulina je lahko razlog, da se bodo nekateri ljudje nad prelivom zmrdovali. Meni osebno, rahel okus spiruline ne moti, vem pa da številnim ljudem ni všeč. V bistvu prav paše k tahiniju in česnu, zato vas spodbujam, da preliv preizkusite. Laurens, ki spiruline prej še nikoli ni okusil (le v smoothie-jih, ampak brez vedenja) je okus preliva je opisal kot ‘poseben’ in ‘zanimiv’ (s pozitivnim prizvokom). Spirulina je sicer zelo zdrava in je bogata s proteini, minerali, vitamini in antioksidanti in dokazano je bilo, da lahko okrepi imunski sistem.

Preparing this dressing will only take about 10 minutes of your time. You just need to gather all the ingredients, throw them in the food processor and mix until creamy. Use the lemon tahini spirulina dressing on grilled or roasted vegetables, on your salad and try it on fish. If you can not get past the spirulina flavour, you can always omit it and still have a delicious lemon tahini dressing that is paleo and vegan and Whole30 compliant and whatever other diet you are following.

Ingredients
  1. 3 tbsp tahini
  2. Juice 1 lemon
  3. 2 garlic cloves
  4. 1-2 tsp spirulina powder (start with one if you're not used to the taste)
  5. 3 dates
  6. 1/2 cup water
  7. 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and mix until combined.
  2. Use more or less water, depending on what consistency you want.
  3. Store in the fridge up to 1 week.

Priprava tega preliva vam bo vzela le 10 minut. Potrebujete le čas, da zberete vse sestavine, jih vržete v mikser in zmiksate v kremasto zmes. Preliv uporabite na pečeni zelenjavi, na solati, poskusite ga na ribi. Če vas okus spiruline ne prepriča, jo lahko preprosto izpustite iz recepta in ostal vam bo slasten limonin tahini preliv, ki je paleo, veganski, omnivorski in ne vem kaj še obstaja.

Ingredients
  1. 3 žlice tahinija
  2. Sok 1 limone
  3. 2 stroka česna
  4. 1-2 čajni žlički spiruline v prahu (prični z eno, če okusa spiruline nisi vajen)
  5. 3 datlji
  6. 1/2 lončka vode
  7. 1/4 čajne žličke soli
Instructions
  1. Vse sestavine združimo v mikserju in zmešamo v enotno maso.
  2. Količino vode prilagodimo glede na želeno gostoto.
  3. Preliv shranimo v hladilniku do 1 tedna.
